Hearing Impaired Identification Card

If you have a hearing impairment, you may obtain a hearing impaired identification card unless you hold a learner's permit or driver's license issued from any state within the United States.

This ID card is the same as an adult ID card except that it bears the notation "Hearing Impaired ID". It does not provide special privileges, but does indicate that you have a hearing impairment.

Refer to Adult ID Cards to find out more about identification cards.

For ID card examples, visit Images of Driver's Licenses and Identification Cards.

License Indicator

A driver's license indicator is available for drivers who are hearing impaired. This indicator is placed on the driver's license in order to identify the disability to law enforcement personnel.
