Tips to Prepare for Your Visit

If you cannot complete your DMV business online, use these tips ensure a smooth visit to a customer service center:
  1. Allow plenty of time to complete your transaction. Actual wait times may vary depending on services requested and do not include time prior to receipt of queuing ticket. For optimal service, the best times to visit DMV are in the middle of the month, middle of the week.
  2. Bring all necessary documents to complete your transaction. See the Online Document Guide to create a list of documents you need to bring to complete your transaction.
  3. Bring the necessary fees. Payment options include: Cash, credit card displaying the Discover, MasterCard, VISA or American Express logo, Debit card displaying the MasterCard or VISA logo, and check.
