Mineral DMV Select Opens in New Town Building

RICHMOND - The Mineral DMV Select is now operating from a new, larger location. The Town of Mineral built a new office complex at 312 Mineral Avenue in Louisa County and the DMV Select was part of the move last month. The Select was previously located nearby at 102 East First Street. Town of Mineral officials will hold a building dedication ceremony Wednesday, March 14 at 3 p.m.
The new Mineral DMV Select now has five service windows versus four in the former location. The new office has 2,000 more square feet, tripling its size. "Now we have a nice lobby for any customer overflow," said DMV Select Agent Willie Harper, Town Manager for Mineral. "Our customers are really enjoying the new space. Also, it seems word has gotten out because we're a little busier now with more foot traffic. We had customers who said they traveled from Spotsylvania and Montpelier this week."
The Mineral DMV Select is one of 57 Select partners throughout the state. Select partners, who are private citizens and local governments, contract with DMV to conduct vehicle-related transactions. Each DMV Select has online access to DMV allowing the partner to update customer records immediately. The Mineral Select's hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
"The Mineral DMV Select provides needed services in an area where the nearest full-service DMV customer service center is almost 45 minutes away," said DMV Commissioner Richard D. Holcomb. "We appreciate our partnership with the Town of Mineral for offering a convenient alternative for local DMV customers."
Customers can conduct many routine motor vehicle-related services at DMV Selects including vehicle decal renewals, vehicle titles and license plate orders.
