Access to Broad Street DMV Limited During December 7 Parade
Customers Urged to Plan Ahead, Consider Visiting Nearby Offices
RICHMOND - Road closures for Saturday's Christmas Parade will limit access to DMV's Richmond Central Customer Service Center (CSC) located at 2300 West Broad Street.
According to parade organizers, sections of Hermitage Road, Leigh Street, and DMV Drive will close to traffic December 7 starting at 5 a.m. Broad Street in front of the DMV office is also expected to close around 7 a.m.
The Richmond Central DMV Office is open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. No road tests for cars or motorcycles will be offered on December 7 due to parade traffic.
With the street closures, DMV anticipates challenges for customers attempting to get to the customer service center.
"We encourage customers to plan ahead and allow extra time if they plan to travel to this DMV location to conduct business on Saturday," said DMV spokesperson Sunni Brown. "Customers will not be able to access DMV's customer parking lots during the parade because of street closures. In the past, customers have parked on nearby streets and walked to the Broad Street location on the day of the Christmas parade."
When DMV is closed or anytime, customers may visit http://www.dmvNOW.com to sign up for a myDMV account and take care of their DMV business online. Customers can conduct more than 30 different secure transactions with a myDMV account and personal identification number (PIN), such as renewing a driver's license or ID card, and they may obtain information specific to them, such as their driving records.
